Besides it was a sad fact that Arkady Andreasyan and Sanasar Gevorgyan couldn’t take part in this match so they didn’t have chance to help their team. The topscorer of the championship a day before with USSR team took part in qualifying match of the World Cup against France and had his significant role in the victory of his team.(2-0).
In the game that took place in Moscow Andreasyan was acting in his usual place, in midfield. Due to his well worked out pass Blokhin opened the score in the 81st minute. Sanasar Gevorgyan took part as a substitute to Buryak in the match among juniors of the above mentioned countries.
So instead of these two footballers Armen Sargsyan and Segey Poghosyan took part In the match with “ Kayrat”. If not taking into account the match with Kiev’s “ Dinamo” in which Sargsyan was soon substituted, it must be said that in Alma Ata it was the first play of this twenty year old footballer. He showed an excellent game and recommended himself as a good central defender .
This time “Ararat” showed a wonderful football and scored the match up. It was an excellent and convincing away victory The guests were acting actively, organizing attacks mostly in wide front. In the second minute of the match Petrosyan made a good pass to Margarov who kicked the ball straight to the goal, Ordabaev could hardly neutralize the danger, but on that very moment Kazaryan took the ball and opened the score. Such an unexpected start made the hosts to organize active attacks and as a result Rozhkov with his long range shoot from 25 metres reestablished the balance in the game. Before the end of the first half Yakubov and Markin missed a wonderful chance to score another goal and due to Abrahamyan’s excellent game they failed. After the break it was obvious that “Ararat” had advantage. Khazaryan headed the ball, thus pushing his team forward, then Bondarenko with a rocket shot from 30 metres smashed the ball to the above corner of the goal.
Then Zanazanyan didn’t miss the chance to score another goal which was the 499th goal scored by ‘’Ararat’’ in USSR championships so in the next tour, ‘’Ararat’s’’ first goal would have been jubilee. Scoring two goals in Alma Ata Nikolay Kazaryan became included in the list of (100 topscorers) in which from “Ararat” only Eduard Margarov was enlisted before that. Besides Khazaryan was recognized as the topscorer of “Ararat” with one ball leaving back even Hovannes Zanazanyan. Those undoubtly were very good facts in itself, but the most important and joyful thing was that thanks to the impressive victory in Alma Ata “Ararat” in the season of 73 for the first time took the leadership of the championship, as by an unexpected coincidence all the leaders failed in tour 9. In Moscow “Torpedo” beat “ Dneper” (3 – 1), “Spartak” lost to “CSKA” (1 –2), and “Zarya” defeated “Shachtyor” (2-1). ‘’Dinamo” Kiev on home ground lost to ‘’CSKA’’ Rostov on penalty shoot out. So five teames each with ten points at the same time were among leaders, but taking into account the scored goals “Ararat” became the leader in the championship table and afirmed its place in following tours.
Again With a Large Score
Five days later “Ararat” in Hrazadan stadium again had a success. In the game with “ Pakhtakor” “Ararat” did his best to show his privilege performing an animated and well organized football. The fans were impatiently waiting for the 500th jubilee goal. ( they knew about this fact from the information given in “Hayastani Fizkulturnik” beforehand.”) But it turned out to be not an easy task to break a rather strong defense of the guests . But in 39th minute of the game the guests knocked down Zanazanyan, so Ararat got the right of penalty which was realized by Andreasyan as usual. After the break Arkady once more showed his skill in realizing penalty and later on in the current championship Margarov also scored his goal. It was scored after Zanazanyan-Kazaryan quick combination which was completed by Margarov’s beautiful header. The 4th goal was scored by Bondarenko. This time his shoot was as keen as the one in Alma Ata . Thus Ararat had two victories in a row (the 3rd in the championship ). These victories made our footballers believe in themselves and in their strength. This psychological stimulus played a great role in the success of our team in further matches.
